Our cyanoacrylate instant adhesive range provides adhesives capable of gap filling up to 0.25mm (Mega Firm Extra) and super-fast curing (Mega Bond). How does Super Structural Technology work?
In simple terms we are using nano particles within the formulation to increase the bond area and therefore increase bond strength.

- How does SST work? Nano particles are used within the formulation to increase the bond area and therefore the bond strength.
Diagram 1 shows a magnified view of an adhesive bond. Although to the naked eye the surface of the substrate may appear smooth, under a microscope you will see this is not the case and it is full of peaks and troughs. A standard structural acrylic adhesive sits on the peaks.
Diagram 2 shows how the nano formulation of a super structural technology product not only sits on the peaks of the substrate but is also able to penetrate the troughs and therefore increases the surface contact area increasing the bond strength.
